Simon Macrae, General Manager
Simon’s introduction to the hospitality industry began in the UK as a bartender in his native town of Cambridge. His passion for hospitality inspired him to relocate to London, where he began working for some of the capital’s finest and most notable restaurants such as Hawksmoor Steakhouse. With over a decade of experience in hospitality, Simon would later find himself crossing the Atlantic where he was to apply his knowledge and expertise in restaurant management to the Canadian market. Staying true to his English roots, Simon exemplifies the etiquette and sophistication of England’s fine dining culture, which he has translated into his work here in North America. With a strong portfolio and refined demeanor, Simon has been embraced by some of Canada’s most leading hospitality groups. Well-travelled and well trained, Simon’s fascination with the process to get great food to the restaurant plate has taken him to see prize-winning Aberdeen Angus cattle in Scotland, to rare-breed pig farms in Essex and scalloping off the Cornish coast. Following his dedication for training and development, he has lead seminars on topics from Cattle Husbandry to Enlightened Hospitality. In late 2018, Simon joined Liberty Entertainment Group as the General Manager of BlueBlood Steakhouse at Casa Loma. This collaboration has allowed Simon the opportunity to work with and develop some of the industry’s finest hospitality professionals, driving BlueBlood Steakhouse to be one of Toronto’s premier destinations for fantastic steak and also home to the city’s warmest and richest service experience.
